The second half of the novel introduces new characters all caught in the same situation and all thrown into the pain and turmoil of forced adoptions.I can’t understand how JW can completely understand teenage anxiety and make her characters come to life in such a fluid way.

So how would I sun this up … honest , gut wrenching yet sweet at times , emotional and heartbreaking! When Nina starts waving at some boys on the diving boards, Laura is horrified, but does her best to look sixteen like Nina is trying to pull off. The connection you feel with all of the characters is almost immediate and you can't help but feel your own heart break throughout the book. I read this book in a couple of hours and i did nearly cry but only at a really tragic bit about literal rape so dont read this book if thats a touchy subject.
